Following the mockumentary spirit of THIS IS SPINAL TAP and paving the way for BEST IN SHOW and A MIGHTY WIND, Christopher Guest’s WAITING FOR GUFFMAN stars Guest as Corky St. Clair, an eccentric theatre director in a Judy Tenuta shirt who assembles local weirdos to stage his masterpiece: a musical revue celebrating the 150th anniversary of Blaine, Missouri. But will Broadway producer Mort Guffman (Bob Balaban) make it in time to get Corky to the Big Apple? Co-starring Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, and co-writer Eugene Levy, WAITING FOR GUFFMAN is one of the funniest and most beloved cult comedies of the ’90s.
