Justin Bond, star of John Cameron Mitchell’s SHORTBUS, 2009 nominee for the GLAAD Awards and one half of Tony nominated performance duo Kiki and Herb, began writing songs while straddling a log on a mountain in Tennessee on Mayday of last year and has been touring with his band to wild acclaim and rapturous applause ever since.

RITES OF SPRING is a celebration in story and song of rebirth, regeneration and just plain old fashioned spring fever -and you know what that means… Combining cabaret, witchcraft, a punk attitude and neo-folk glamour this show promises tears, glitter and a rollicking good time!

Opening the night, Hand2Mouth Company Member Faith Helma will be performing from her solo show UNDINE. Dubbed an “electro-sorceress of sound” by the Seattle Times, Helma’s performance is inspired by an obscure fairy-tale water nymph and the myth of the self-destructive rock star. Like Cat Power, Elliot Smith, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain, Undine is a fierce, fragile being lost between night and the dawn of day.
